por Usuario de Firefox 13367921, hace 8 añosIt works on several sites (I've been using it for many days) and it's great that I can block specific parts of pages without having to use another add-on (such as "Element hiding helper"). But, for some reason, even though I'm subscribed to several lists it doesn't block a SINGLE THING on http://brittanica.com/ (This is probably true for other sites as well.)
Even if I create special rules to block the ads, I re-load the page once or twice and new ads are displayed.
This is very annoying, this not "non-instrusive" advertising (and I have that setting unchecked, by the way) we're talking about ads with moving images and lots of blinking non-sense, right next to the article.
Adblock Plus allowed me to use the Encyclopedia Britannica site without any disturbances.

publicado el hace 8 añosHi lionlionlionlion, thanks for your feedback! On Brittanica.com, I'm seeing a couple of small ads on some pages intermittently. Reloading the page once or twice hides the ads properly for me.
If you're seeing something different, particularly ads with moving or blinking images or ads that don't go away after a refresh, would you mind using our "Report an ad on this page" feature? It will run through some quick troubleshooting that will help us find out what's happening. Thanks!

Not even upon opening the browser, just whenever you're trying to do something. There are better ways to get users to donate or notify them that they've updated. Please fix this. At least make these into browser notifications or something, just not highjacking my browser to a new tab while I'm doing something.

If you haven’t upgraded to Premium, the payment page will display when we update, letting you know about any new features and offering you the option to upgrade. You can close the page by clicking the “x” on the tab. To turn the update page off entirely, click on the AdBlock icon on your browser’s toolbar, then the gear icon, and select the General tab. And you can't really report when something isn't working. I find alternatives like Ublock better.

Ad Block became the very thing it sought to destroy.

Ads are still appearing on youtube. Yes, I have done the the General and and advanced setting procedures as recommended. I hate the ads... Is adblock loosing the ad-war or em I missing something?

The addon is frequently opening a new tab in foreground asking to donate or switch to paid version. I know no other addon (and there are very much great addons I use, that do not do this).

- Se valoró con 2 de 5por SICKS6SIX, hace 5 mesesit doesnt stop adverts on youtube or any of the other video content providers ive tried it with, what it does is this; often it opens another window and ask you for money so it doesnt open up that window in the future, the people who are giving this app 5* probably gave Ticktock 5* ratings as well. i gave it 2* becasue it was easy to uninstall, often these trype of money demanding apps are almost impossible to uninstall, so for that reason they get 2* from me,
