Speed Dial 2 New tab page by Browser extensions

by Firefox user 14400988, 7 years agoWorthless in Android FF 62.0.3:
1. installed it without having a user account in SpeedDial2.com
at end of walkthrough setup a bunch of triggers...
Good!
Open new tab...
FF's "speed dial, limited" opens, instead of this extension...
So, I try arbitrarily opening the addon itself...
moz-extension://e9a2d5db-0de7-4300-ab3a-856f2f10c38f/menu.html
is the uri I get,
"saving..." is what the page says...
Of course, it doesn't work.
Figuring that if it was "saving", then it had to be saving /somewhere/,
so maybe it was needing me to have an account for it to work?
So, I registered on their site...
And tried again.
2. same result.
3. I went on their site, tried finding support, was pointed to the "forum",
so I tried telling them...
OK, so now I am not allowed to paste that uri into the forum textbox,...
Oh, I'm not allowed to post ANYthing because registering on their site doesn't register me in their forum, & they want access to my Google account for me to register on their forum??
Further, when I tried
install AGAIN, set up lots of triggers at end of walkthrough, & then immediately export...
I discovered it was saving lots of information about my browsing that it had no business saving...
AND yet more, it supposedly can allow the buttons to be moved, but in Android FF 62 that is false: nothing can move them, so one would have to write down all the buttons, sort them on paper, delete them all, and then put them in in-order, IF the thing worked, in the 1st place.
DO NOT USE, IF IN ANDROID/FF.
To SD2.com, you may have merely been careless ( if any of the privacy-settings or privacy-plugins I added blocked your addon from working, then your non-communicating of what your extension needs to work breaks your worth in the actual market ),
but the bogus forum "help" is not worth bothering with.
ANYONE who wants to molest my accounts, in order for me to be participating in theirs,
no matter how "fashionable" or "acceptable" molesting is, nowadays, that crosses the line.
Do Not ask to get in anyone's account, if you want to be trustworthy.
Period.
To anyone who disagrees with ANYthing in my review, just report it as abuse, & get it removed:
obviously, my opinion isn't common, and if uncommon, it /must/ be abuse, right?
So, obliterate it, for conformity's regime.
Cheers.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18709696, 19 days agoThe scammer developer! Many years ago I bought the Pro version, today I'm trying to log in — it says the login is incorrect! When I try to reset the password, it says that this account does not exist!
- Rated 1 out of 5by Akela, 20 days agoSuddenly changing it after many years so we can no longer use custom urls for bookmark icons is so beyond scummy.
- Rated 1 out of 5by AC⚡️DC, 20 days agoThe developer is a rip-off artist and therefore not trustworthy. start.me helped me out, they have had a reliable track record.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Sergey Twersky, 3 months agoThe tiles in the dark theme are not dark, nor are the settings or any of the menus, including the menu for selecting a group in compact mode. This is essentially the main drawback of this extension. It just needs to be refined so that the dark mode is truly dark throughout. :)

- Rated 1 out of 5by Bright-FF, 4 months agoHiding previously free features behind a paywall, instead of developing new features to justify a payment, is a dark pattern.
And this is not even touching on the fact, how ridiculous it is to expect a freaking subscription for such an addon. - Rated 1 out of 5by Some User, 4 months agothat's a really bad thing. if you want to somehow make it not look terrible, you have to pay them 12 bucks a year. even firefox new tab has a better experience.
